Hidetoshi Nakata is widely considered one of the greatest Japanese football players of all time due to his exceptional abilities on the pitch. Nakata began his professional career with Bellmare Hiratsuka in 1995. He quickly established himself as one of Japan's most exciting young players, attracting the attention of European clubs. In 1998, he joined Perugia in Series A, becoming the first Japanese player to sign for a top European club.
Nakata immediately impacted Italy, earning a reputation as one of the league's most popular players. He was known for his elegant play style and ability to score spectacular goals. He won the Scudetto in his first season with Roma in 2001 and played for Parma, Fiorentina, and Bologna before retiring in 2006 at 29.
