The Seibu Lions are a professional baseball team in Japan's Pacific League. They are based in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo. The team was founded in 1949 as the Fukuoka Lions and was renamed the Seibu Lions in 1979 when they moved to Tokorozawa. The Lions have won 13 Japan Series championships, more than any other team in the Pacific League. They have also won 23 Pacific League pennants. The Lions are one of Japan's most popular baseball teams with a large and passionate fan base.
